EdTech Ideas Fund
The EdTech Ideas Fund is designed to support early-stage edtech ideas — particularly those focused on further education, skills, and real-world impact.
There’s no shortage of ideas in education. But there is a shortage of practical support to help people take the first step. This is about changing that.

Who this is for
-
Individuals with an early-stage edtech idea
-
FE practitioners who know what needs fixing
-
Small businesses exploring new products or services
-
Anyone with a clear problem and a potential solution
You don’t need a finished product.
You don’t need a pitch deck.
You just need a good idea.

How many projects will be supported
Each year, I will decide how many projects to support.
For the 2026/27 academic year, I will select up to 5 projects to work with.
This is intentionally limited to ensure each idea gets the time, attention and support it deserves.

What you’ll get
If selected, you’ll receive:
-
A small amount of funding to help you get started
-
1 full day of my time to work through your idea properly
-
Access to an online platform to support development and collaboration
-
Honest, practical input grounded in FE, curriculum and digital
This is hands-on, practical support — not theory.

No long process. No unnecessary barriers.

What I’m looking for
-
A clear problem worth solving
-
A practical idea (not just theory)
-
A willingness to take action
-
Openness to challenge and feedback
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about potential.
