Education Consultancy

After a successful career working across all phases of the education sector in teaching, management and senior leadership roles, I become a freelance consultant in January 2020. I have since supported a range of schools, academy trusts, further education colleges, universities and adult education providers across the UK to deliver impactful projects, results and outcomes.

I am deeply passionate about further and adult education which is where I believe you can have the most impact transforming education, lives and communities.

This includes supporting colleges in interim leadership and management roles as Curriculum Director, Head of Digital and Assistant Principal.

Curriculum Design

I have authored and developed industry curriculums to respond to local skills needs covering a range of topics. This includes developing curriculum solutions tailored to the needs of educational institutions and industries. My expertise includes creating Ofqual-regulated qualifications and accredited programmes up to Level 5, aligning with professional standards such as the British Computer Society (BCS). These programmes were carefully crafted to address skills gaps, prepare learners for career growth, and respond to local and national skills priorities. I have successfully introduced innovative pathways, such as career-focused computing and eSports programmes, resulting in improved learner outcomes and engagement. Whether securing government funding or conducting comprehensive curriculum reviews, I work collaboratively with institutions to deliver impactful and sustainable solutions that meet both academic and industry requirements.

Interim Support

I provide interim leadership and management support during times of transition or organisational change. The roles I have carried out include Interim Assistant Principal and Head of ILT/Digital. In these roles, I have empowered organisations to develop strategies, restructure teams and implement operational improvements that drive measurable results. In addition to addressing immediate challenges, I have mentored and trained leaders and teams to deliver impactful and sustainable outcomes. By working collaboratively with senior leaders, I deliver strategic and practical solutions that will enhance efficiency, effectiveness and organisational growth.

Strategic Projects

I have successfully managed and supported a series of complex and high-profile educational projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope and on budget. I have learnt lots of valuable lessons leading, managing and supporting multi-faceted projects over the past two decades. My work has included supporting high profile projects for the Department for Education and Greater London Authority. My achievements include securing £500k in government funding and leading the development of a cyber security curriculum recognised as a model of best practice. My ability to adapt solutions to meet organisational goals ensures successful outcomes. From digital transformation strategies to the launch of innovative learning tools, I work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver impactful and sustainable results.

Quality Support

I support educational institutions in enhancing their provision through comprehensive quality assurance and improvement processes. This includes conducting curriculum reviews, developing self-assessment reports, and implementing targeted quality improvement plans that align with Ofsted standards and other regulatory requirements. My approach focuses on achieving sustainable improvements by identifying strengths, addressing areas for development, and fostering a culture of excellence. By working collaboratively with leadership teams and staff, I help institutions improve learner outcomes, streamline processes, and build robust frameworks for continuous quality enhancement.

I have had the great pleasure of working on several FE assignments with Billy. He is remarkable in his ability to add value both in breadth and depth to any Further Education scenario, particularly in relation to technology based cutting edge subjects such as AI and Cybersecurity.  Constantly overdelivering on expectations marked out Billy as the go to person to achieve goals, targets and objectives to deadlines.  He has a particularly innovative approach and is able to liaise comfortably at all levels. A superb asset and I hope to work with him again soon.
